Scott Savell is a retired Air Force Chaplain residing in Hodgenville, Kentucky. He studied Psychology, Sociology, and Religion at Mississippi College, graduating in 1993. He received a Master of Divinity in Missions, Evangelism and Church Ministry from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2001. He completed a residency in Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) through the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in 2011 and an intensive CPE Supervisor-in-Training program with the Institute for Clinical Pastoral Training (ICPT) in 2017. His ministry has spanned more than 32 years and eight states. He served churches in Mississippi and Kentucky before entering the Air Force where he served as a chaplain with assignments in Illinois, Texas, Alaska, and Florida before retiring in 2017. His travels have taken him to India, Israel, Senegal, France, Germany, Japan, Curacao, Canada, The Philippines, and the Dominical Republic. He is a Pastor/Theologian, Teacher, Author, Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisor, Board Certified Chaplain with triple certification through the Association of Certified Christian Chaplains (ACCC), National Association of Veterans Affairs Chaplains (NAVAC) and the Spiritual Care Association (SCA), and Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisor-Educator. He presently serves as the ICPT Director of Education. He is endorsed by the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.
Chapain Savell oversees all faculty and educational programs to ensure the quality of instruction is aligned with ICPT's mission, vision, and values.
